JUMP QUEST: BRADLEY WIGGINS EXPRESSES READINESS

Bradley Wiggins, former winner of the France de Tour has come out to express his readiness to participate in The Jump Quest, a celebrity winter sports contest.

The 36-year old is insisting that he does not see himself as a favorite for the event, and not also “fussed about winning.”

Wiggins, who has retired from professional cyclist is planning to take on the grueling contest one day at a time. He also hopes that at the end of it all, he comes out of the contest as a better skier.

He said: “I’m not sure if my competitiveness will come out, maybe when I get going, but I’m not going to lose any sleep over it. My goal is to just improve my skiing; I’m not fussed about winning.”

Wiggins noted that since he began training, he has become used to the routine and it hasn’t proved really tough yet. He wishes to remain as fit and possible, and avoid fat as well.

This year’s edition of the Jump will see celebrities such as Gareth Thomas and Jason Robinson, Rugby players, footballer Robbie fowler, Paralympic medalist Kadeena Cox, gymnast Louis Smith and Jade Jones, a Taekwondo champion take part in it.

The lineup is completed by three reality stars Spencer Matthews, Josie Gibson and Lydia Bright, model Vogue Williams, comedian Mark Dolan, entrepreneur Caprice and TV presenter Emma Parker-Bowles.

For Wiggins, one of the reasons he decided to join in the reality TV show was that there were also several other sportsmen and women competing in it as well. He also made it known that The Jump is one of the only reality TV show he could participate in while jokingly adding: “I definitely don’t fancy putting on any Strictly lycra and sparkles.”

This Sunday on Channel 4, the Jump would begin.
